Security measures increase after thievery

As the last of the student body was leaving campus for Christmas break, a 46-inch Samsung flat screen television was stolen from Grosshuesch Hall. The first person to notice that the TV was no longer hanging on the wall was Resident Assistant Chris Grotegut.
Fun-filled experience helps out the community

On Jan. 16, a group of Lakeland College students, staff, and faculty attended a volunteer event at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan. This event was coordinated by the Faculty Outreach Committee to provide an opportunity for new transfers and freshmen to get to know the community and to meet new friends.

The Passport to Success Program, which went underway last semester, was designed to motivate students to become engaged in campus events by offering free books to the student who attended the most events in one year. All plans indicate that this program will continue to grow.
Student organization brings environmental awareness to Sheboygan youth

The Lakeland chapter of the Student Wisconsin Education Association (StWEA) was recently awarded a $1,000 grant from the National Education Association (NEA). The grant will be used to bring environmental awareness to students and the community when visiting Maywood Environmental Park.
