Anschutz went 1-3 in the game with a double, two walks, and two runs scored.

The nightcap saw the Muskies rally for five runs in the eighth to give Anschutz the win at the mound. He allowed two runs, none earned, on eight hits and struck out four in eight innings pitched in the 6-2 victory.

"The team showed a lot of character battling back to get the second game in [Sunday's and Tuesday's] doubleheaders," Coach John Govek said after the split against Carroll.

On Saturday, the Muskies dropped a pair of close games to perennially ranked UW-Oshkosh, 4-1 and 9-4.

Brian Swanson took the loss in the first game despite giving up only three earned runs in eight innings of work, while striking out five.

The Titans jumped on Lakeland's Doug Mogensen for seven runs in 3.1 innings in the second game.

Shane Hansen hit a two-run home run in the seventh for Lakeland to close the scoring for both teams.

"I saw a lot of positive things against Oshkosh," Govek said. "If we get a little better, we can compete nationally, and we proved that on Saturday."

The recent stretch of games has lifted the Muskies' record to 3-13. They open conference play at home against Wisconsin Lutheran with a doubleheader this afternoon at three.
