Section One: Soccer begins conference play

The Women's Soccer Team continues to dominate in the Northern Athletics Conference, with a 2-0-1 record, and momentum going into the next week. The Lady Muskies are currently sitting at a 6-4-1 record going into solid conference play for the rest of the year.
In a tough match against MSOE, the offense's recent downpour of goals came to a trickle against a sturdy defense, but the Lady Muskies prevailed. The lone goal of the game came from midfielder Amy Christenson. The Lady Muskie held strong though, holding the Raiders to 9 shots in the game.
From their game against MSOE, the Lady Muskies returned back home to play Maranatha in conference play. Going for their first conference win of the season, Lakeland managed to put the onion in the basket twice with Nellie Weiss continuing her bid to be the team's leading scorer this year. The defense once again shored up and played strong, limiting Maranatha to a total of 5 shots.
After a strong win in conference, Lakeland faced an unrelenting St. Norbert's offense. St. Norbert's found their way past the defense and into the back of the net four times in only the fourth game of the year that found Lakeland scoreless.
With conference play back on the horizon for Lakeland against Marian, a rebound was necessary, and found. The Lady Muskies took what they gained from playing the tough St. Norbert's team and applied it to their next conference game, positing a scoring trend Lakeland fans have gotten used to seeing.
Nellie Weiss once again found the back of the net, and Laura Engel posted a great performance with a goal and an assist in the 3-0 routing of the Marian team. This win brought the Lady Muskies to a 2-0-1 record in conference, and provides momentum forgoing against Concordia.
