Dragonball Evolution Disappoints
Dragonball lets down original fans with a less-than-appealing storyline

When watching "Dragonball", all one wants is to be immersed in a world where people can fly, shoot energy beams from their palms, and fights versus villains whose only ambition is find the Dragonballs to wish for immortality. Not deep, but that was the enjoyment.
Let us talk about the fisticuffs. The most awe-inspiring scene was in the first half hour. Goku, having vowed not to fight, defeats five high school bullies by dodging every attack and letting bullies take care of each other. The sad part is this was in the first half hour. This five minute sequence topped the climax. The climax was about four punches, one kamehameha (kudos if you know, if not, don't worry), and well, that's about it. The shortest skirmishes throughout the anime span forty minutes, and that's based off an hour-length feature. "Dragon Ball Evolution" is an hour and twenty two minutes. I will leave you to do the math.
If you did not see "Dragonball," worry not, you missed nothing except maybe a good example of why Japanese anime should never be made into a live-action movie. If you are a "Dragonball" fan I recommend gathering your friends together and making your own film, which will likely be a vast improvement over this flick.
