As another school year closes, another summer is ready to begin. But seeing your friends from school doesn't have to end in May. Even if you can't afford to go across the country with your best friends, do not worry, my fellow Muskies, your Rockstar has yet again discovered the places to visit under the summer sun. If you live in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, or Michigan, don't worry; I've got you covered.
So put away those winter coats, and get out your shades because your favorite Lakeland Rockstar has done it again.

1.First and foremost, no summer is perfect without a trip to Summerfest in Milwaukee. Summerfest runs from June 25 to July 5, and it's America's largest music festival. They bring in the biggest names in the music business and also bring in some local areas bands to give their career a little boost.

Several big names so far coming to Summerfest are Bon Jovi on June 25, Keith Urban and The Offspring on the 26, Sara Evans on the 27, Lupe Fiasco on the 29, Chicago and Earth Wind and Fire on the 30.

The most exciting day is when Gwen Stefani reunites with No Doubt, who will be opened by Paramore, on July 2. Also on July 2, classic rock bands Whitesnake and Judas Priest will perform. July 3 brings Kenny Chesney, who sings at Summerfest every year.

It's funny because you will know Kenny will be performing that night because just about everyone is wearing a cowboy hat. Kid Rock and Lynyrd Skynyrd will close out Summerfest on July 5. These are just some of the performers at Summerfest- more acts will be announced as time gets closer. Besides music, Summerfest has a humungous selection of food from all around the world. Plus, it's great exercise along the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. Summerfest has every kind of music performing every day, making it the number one thing to do this summer.

2. No matter who you go with, Six Flags Great America is always fun. Yeah, it's on the pricey side, but it's worth every penny if you get to the park when it opens and stay late. If you live in Milwaukee or the surrounding Chicago area and want fun this summer, I'd suggest buying a season pass.
