With Halloween literally around the corner, people are scrambling to finish their costumes for this sacred of all dark holidays. This is one of the few times a year we can see our friends emulate different characters such as Scooby Doo and act like them in all their aspects.

Coming from a big city, I can recall seeing old classics such as zombies and vampires walking among us. I can remember trick or treating till my early twenties and enjoying the atmosphere people bring to the once desolate streets.

One fond memory is driving away from my local hot spot, where candy literally drops from the sky, and hearing a loud thump on the right side of my car. When I stopped to investigate it I saw that a couple of small pranksters had thrown an egg at my car.

Remembering this, I noticed that this aspect of Halloween has been disappearing at a steady rate. Pranking is, when done correctly, an art form of creativity and desire. One must plan ahead to pull off a decent prank, and a great one takes a great amount of dedication.

As of today, we stand two days till we can dance with the devil with the pale moonlight, as the Joker once put it. So, I don't expect many clever pranks to be coming out of this campus, but still I encourage people to recall their favorite.

This article does not encourage pranks on campus but it is merely an homage to a lost art form. Remember this art is lost for a reason. I can bring to mind posters all over certain neighborhoods, stating not to sell eggs or shaving cream to minors during Halloween week, in an attempt to eliminate pranks all together.

As part of this homage I feel we should recollect several classics; so I give you the top old school pranks for Halloween.

On my list, Ding Dong Ditching ranks high because of the childhood factor. Doing this prank brings back memories of yesteryear, and clearly, what is funnier than snickering in the bushes while watching your neighbor stare aimlessly into the darkness?
