3. If you want to see some beautiful
scenery, then San Francisco is the spot for you. The Golden Gate Bridge is the ideal background, besides a beach which SF also has. San Francisco is filled with parks and attractions. The Golden Gate Park is filled with trees and flowers found only in the park and nowhere else. SF is also home to the famous Chinatown. Chinatown has been around since the early 1850's and demonstrates the Chinese culture even though China is far away. So take the trolley around "San Fran" for your break as it comes in as number three on the top ten list.
4. Love drinking Coca-Cola? Then ATL, otherwise known as Atlanta, is your holiday destination. The world's official Coca-Cola museum is located in ATL. It has every flavor of Coke you can think of to taste. You could also go see the Atlanta Falcons football team on Sunday, Dec, 27 at the Georgia Dome against the Buffalo Bills. The CNN headquarters is located in ATL, as well as the Georgia Aquarium. Tours are offered to take you around the CNN studio. Tickets for the aquarium range from 20 dollars for kids and 26 for adults. ATL is a warm and fun city to visit; that's why it's number four.
5. Not too far from ATL is the home of jazz and blues music also known as New Orleans. Though it was nearly destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in Aug. 2005, New Orleans has slowly been building its way back to the way things once were. No matter where you go in this city, you're sure to find jazz or blues music playing. Jazz clubs are hoppin' every night and close in the wee hours of the night. There are numerous shopping areas that surround the still standing historic part of the city. The other reason besides the jazz that people come to New Orleans for is the Cajun food, such as crawfish, shrimp and oysters. If you're looking for non-stop excitement, New Orleans is the place to be.
6. Now I realize Wisconsin Dells isn't beating the winter blues, but since it's winter, the humungous indoor water parks are back in full swing. With hundreds of feet of slides and millions of gallons of heated water, Wisconsin Dells is a nearby retreat that if something comes up with the family or something happens at work, you're able to deal with it better. If you're thinking of staying at an indoor park, you better pick a spot fast because rooms will fill fast, especially at parks such as Mt. Olympus, The Great Wolf Lodge, The Wilderness, or The Kalahari. If you're wanting to forget the snow and the cold outside, pick an indoor water park to stay at for a few days over break. Trust me, it'll be relaxing.
