Enlightning events happening around Sheboygan County

Taste of the Alps, A Winterfest Celebration - Saturday, Jan. 30, events begin at 9 a.m., The Shops at Woodlake, Kohler, 920-803-4875, www.shopsatwoodlake.com

Featuring such events as giant snow sculptures, dogsled demonstrations, ice skating, and a snowman building competition; these events are a tribute to the Austrian roots of the Kohler family. The highlight of this year's enhanced celebration of the winter season is the creation of large-scale snow sculptures designed by internationally renowned artists that will be showcased throughout the village. Admission is free for most events.

Family Snowshoe Adventure - Saturday, Feb. 6, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Woodland Dunes Nature Center and Preserve, 3000 Hawthorne Ave., Two Rivers, 920-793-4007, www.woodlanddunes.org

Come for an adventure along the Conifer Trail and learn how the forest changes each season. Make this a family adventure; enjoy the crisp wintery air and glistening snow beneath your feet. Reserve your snowshoes or bring your own. Meet at the Nature Center. Please call or email kellye@woodlanddunes.org to register and to reserve a pair of snowshoes.

The Babbling Bubblers Improv - Saturday, Feb. 6, 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., The Bubbler Theatre, 421 N. 8th Street, Manitowoc, 920-629-1506, www.thebubblertheatre.com

In the style of the "Whose Line is it Anyway?" television show, actors will showcase their improvisational styles using suggestions from the audience. Taking place in a recently renovated building, the show promises to be witty, comical, and entertaining. Admission is $10 per person. Seating is limited.

Valentine's Candlelight Ski and Hike - Saturday, Feb. 13, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Kohler-Andrae State Park, 1020 Beach Park Lane, Sheboygan, 920-451-4080, www.wiparks.net
Celebrate Valentine's Day early while enjoying a winter wonderland at night with family and friends. Ski or hike the 2-mile cross-country trail lit by almost 200 tiki torches. Warm up afterwards while sitting near a glowing fireplace. Refreshments will be available. No pets or sleds allowed. State park sticker is required for admission
